Why choose a STADIO formerly LISOF short course? The course covers the fundamentals of industry relevant practices and is taught by experienced facilitators. We have over 25 years of experience in the industry, and the course has been developed by expert facilitators with an in-depth subject knowledge. Anybody with a keen interest in how clothes are made, enjoys working with their hands and might want to get into the fashion industry or prepare themselves for further studies in higher education.
Students who are 16 years of age and above qualify to enrol in our short courses. Experience in drawing is beneficial.
Successful students may be able to use the outcomes achieved in this course for recognition of prior learning and access to further studies. These outcomes are the ability to produce fundamental womenswear patterns for skirts, bodices and sleeves. Students have access to the campus facilities and may engage with their lecturers for assistance. Online video tutorials are also available for revision and practice purposes. Students can also receive guidance from the Registrar.
This course runs in two cycles for the year. Over a period of 16 weeks per cycle, with classes taking place on Saturdays, between 9am- 3pm. This course takes place in via contact learning on either the Johannesburg or Pretoria campus.
