Those early years instilled in her an appreciation for accountability, teamwork, and the importance of understanding operational realities—principles she has carried into every phase of her professional life. Her ability to connect strategic vision with practical execution has consistently been one of her strengths, allowing her to lead with both insight and empathy.
After almost a decade in the corporate sector, Monette transitioned into academia, where she has spent the past 22 years shaping and inspiring minds. Eighteen of those years were dedicated to lecturing, an experience that gave her a profound understanding of the student journey and the vital role educators play in nurturing both intellectual and personal growth. She is passionate about creating learning environments that are inclusive, engaging, and relevant to the evolving demands of the world beyond the classroom.
Monette is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Management, a journey that reflects her commitment to lifelong learning and her drive to deepen her contribution to leadership and organisational development in higher education.
Her transition from the lecture room to academic leadership was a natural progression. As Head of Academics, Monette spent two years strengthening teaching and learning quality, ensuring academic integrity, and driving consistency across disciplines. She worked closely with academic teams to enhance curriculum design, promote reflective teaching practice, and embed a culture of excellence that continues to resonate across the institution.
For the past two years, Monette has proudly served as the Head of Campus at STADIO Bellville. In this role, she has successfully integrated her business insight, educational expertise, and leadership acumen to foster a vibrant, student-centred campus culture. Under her leadership, the campus has strengthened its focus on student engagement, professional development, and community connection. She is particularly passionate about creating an environment where students feel seen, supported, and equipped to reach their potential, and where staff are empowered to lead with innovation and integrity.
Monette’s leadership philosophy is grounded in collaboration and empathy. She believes that true leadership lies in service—supporting others to grow, thrive, and take ownership of their success. Her approach is relational yet strategic, balancing compassion with accountability and vision with practical outcomes.
Looking ahead, Monette leads with enthusiasm and purpose as STADIO prepares for an exciting new chapter—the transition to its modern and dynamic Durbanville Campus. This move represents more than a change in location; it symbolises growth, innovation, and a renewed commitment to excellence in higher education. For Monette, it is an opportunity to further shape a learning community that reflects The STADIO Way: Service, Quality, Integrity, and People Focus.
As she guides her team and students through this new phase, Monette remains deeply honoured to contribute to STADIO’s mission of building futures through education—one student, one success story, and one milestone at a time.
