What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is a high-energy event where individuals ideate and  form teams to tackle specific challenges within a constrained timeframe. Participants will dive into real-world problems, applying their skills to develop innovative solutions using AI, all while focusing on sustainability issues pertinent to South Africa. Industry leading judges will adjudicate the innovative projects, giving students the opportunity for exceptional exposure while demonstrating the prowess that the STADIO School of IT incubates.

This hackathon is more than just a competition; it is a platform for enhancing student value and skills. Students will gain practical experience in solving sustainability problems using AI, while lecturers will receive training in LEAN innovation and design thinking.

This initiative underscores STADIO's commitment to building a culture of innovation and startup mentality among its students, cementing the pave stones of innovation firmly into the pathway of both STADIO Students and the STADIO School of IT.
