The second category is that of Research Academic, which is awarded to a candidate who has:

  • A completed Masters, with eight accredited outputs; or a completed Doctorate with six accredited outputs;

  • Published three accredited outputs in the last three years or four accredited outputs in the last five years.

JOLANDA MORKEL has attained the STADIO status of Research Academic. She has published one article in an accredited journal, one book chapter and three papers in accredited conference proceedings.

As a qualified architect and academic, Jolanda Morkel employs her design skills to imagine and implement designs for inspirational and inclusive experiences and spaces, and through her published research, she explores learning design, design thinking, and innovative educational practices. Jolanda's research is situated at the intersection of design, education, and technology, including project-based learning, flexible, blended and online learning, technology-mediated and work-integrated learning experiences, learning design and design-thinking for staff development.
