Southern Business School’s consolidation into STADIO Higher Education is complete!


SBS now constitutes the STADIO Faculty of Commerce Administration and Management and the Faculty of Law within the national STADIO offering, which incorporates contact learning as well as distance learning and includes 50 accredited qualifications. We will present the additional spectrum of STADIO programmes to students from the first semester in 2021.

As SBS has always done, the staff at our Krugersdorp and Namibia campuses, will continue keeping our students’ interests at heart as part of the new and exciting STADIO Higher Education institution. We will also keep on doing our utmost to ensure you complete your studies successfully within the two former SBS faculties. The lecturers and academic support staff within the Faculty of Commerce, Administration & Management as well as the Faculty of Law remain largely unchanged. Our school heads are familiar with Christo Swart heading up the School of Law, Jeanette Smit heads up the School for Safety in Society, Johan Willemse and his team are at the helm of the School of Administration & Management and we welcome Dr Antje Hargarter as head of the School of Commerce.


Our courses within the School of Management for Safety in Society, School of Law and School of Administration & Management remain distance based, while the School of Commerce offering will be contact based. Our administration staff are the same passionate bunch and they are just a phone call or email away. The SBS consolidation into STADIO falls in line with the SBS vision to broaden its qualification offering, and to widen access to tertiary education in Southern Africa.

The five STADIO faculties that now exist are the:

  • Faculty of Commerce Management and Administration

  • Faculty of Law

  • Faculty of Education

  • Faculty of Arts and Design

  • Faculty of Sciences and Technologies

Eight Schools now function within these faculties. They are the:

  • School of Commerce

  • School of Administration & Management

  • School of Law

  • School of Fashion

  • School of Information Technology

  • School of Management for Safety in Society

  • School of Education and the

  • School of Media and Design


The consolidation has enabled Southern Business School to vastly expand its qualification offering to its students by providing access to an array of faculties and schools represented by three other higher education institutions, and its study options for the first time now include contact learning on various STADIO campuses nationwide.
