Suppose you are a graduate who is currently unemployed or working but wants to upskill yourself in the education sector. Why not consider retraining to become a lecturer at one of South Africa's many TVET colleges?

The new Advanced Diploma in Technical and Vocational Teaching (TVET) qualification from higher education provider STADIO School of Education allows you to do just that. Beginning in July 2022, the course is open to graduates with a 360-credit NQF Level 6 undergraduate diploma or an appropriate 360-credit NQF Level 7 Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

The qualification works similarly to STADIO's sought-after Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), which prepares graduates to become high school teachers but instead prepares graduates to become qualified TVET College lecturers. Expect to gain an in-depth and progressive theoretical foundation in education, including the psychological and sociological aspects of learning. There are also many opportunities to improve computer literacy and gain practical teaching experience as part of the qualification's workplace-based learning practice sessions.

The most significant advantage of this course lies in the distance learning model. As with the PGCE, this unique Advanced Diploma will be delivered via STADIO's distinctive flexible learning experience, which provides students with quality education without needing them to attend venue-based classes.

This is a much more affordable option as it reduces fuel and travel costs, but it also allows you to study at your own time and pace, either over a one-year full-time or a two-year part-time basis. Course material and resources, assessments, and discussions are loaded onto the online portal throughout your learning journey, and your lecturers are just a click away.

This is the future of education, and it starts with you.
