COURSE OVERVIEW

The short course offers a blend of leadership qualities and technological innovation to help schools prepare the 21st Century classroom from conceptualisation to implementation of technology. It aims to change classroom teaching, learning and assessment through utilisation of apps and a variety of digital content. Almost every Education centre is equipped with laptops, printers and smart-boards to enhance the practice of teachers and school leaders within the community, and this course is aimed at providing our teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to implement 21st century learning through the use of technology.

A needs analysis was carried out with the Phase Heads, Executive Heads and Operational Heads at Curro Schools and the highest needs identified were in leadership and technology (Curro, 2014/2015 CPTD Strategic Plan). There is gap in the technology knowledge required for conceptualisation and implementation of 21st Century Learning in schools and the leadership knowledge required to promote technology and innovation. The target group is teachers and the school leadership who will be equipped to ensure that the media generation or the digital age learners are taught differently using the application of new advancements in technology and mobile learning.
