Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this Online Short Learning Programme.

However, it is recommended that the applicant has achieved English language competence at a level that is equivalent to Grade 12.

  • Unit 2: Managing the hospitality industry

  • Unit 3: Hospitality management and the businessenvironment

At the end of this Short Learning Programme, you should be able to:

  • Explain the role and function of hospitality in tourism

  • Explain the importance of hospitality to the South African economy

  • Distinguish between the different levels of management for hospitality

  • Outline the generic tasks of managers and the development of management theory

  • Identify the role and scope of management in different types of hospitality establishments

  • Distinguish between the different management disciplines

  • Describe the influence of the business environment on hospitality management practices

  • Explain the role of the CEO in an organisation
